Little bits of random . . .

Tuesday, March 30, 2010

Sometimes life just calls for a little bit of random. And today is definitely one of those days. So prepare yourself - this post will be made up of. . .mostly randomness. And random posts call for random pictures, so you might see a few of those sprinkled in here.

So I have been having this problem with a rash on my hands for about two weeks and finally broke down and went to the dermatologist yesterday and found out - I have phytophotodermatitis. Now would be a great time for you to break out all your Latin root word knowledge that you have stored up from your high school Latin class. I thought about making you all guess what that means . . . and what I have, but I'm just gonna tell you :) Basically the short answer is: whenever I get lime juice on my skin and then go out into the sun it causes a chemical reaction in my skin which triggers a rash and which then fades to a lovely brown colored STAIN. How raaaaandom is that?!? So I guess two weeks ago when I was making lime cilantro rice, and squeezed about 6 limes, and then later on that afternoon went and laid out in the sun . . . it triggered this. The conclusion? I now have nasty brown splotches all over my hands that make it look like I have some weird disease, and it will take about 2 months to fade. O JOY. The doctor prescribed a "skin bleaching cream" for me to put on it to help it go away faster. I'm feeling more and more like Michael Jackson with every application of it. I kid . . . I kid. O, and I'm not allowed outside unless I have strong sunscreen slathered all over my hands. This is seriously going to put a kink in my tanning program. So if you see me in about two months and I'm nicely browned but my hands are a beautiful pure white, you will know why.

{sneak peek at upcoming posts}

This week pretty much kicks off the most insanely busy 3 months of my life. Over the next 12 weeks I will be going to Denver twice, Tyler twice, DC twice, Chicago, and N. Carolina and *maybe* Florida. I am shooting 9 weddings and have about 10 portrait sessions booked, I am going to two photography workshops, hopefully attending a friends wedding in Florida, going to my best friends graduation in Denver, and visiting my brother. I'm on a first name basis with all the Southwest Airlines employees . . . it's awesome ;)

{The last of my birthday roses}

I'm a little worried I won't have time to breath. These next few days before my first wedding of the season this Saturday and then heading off to Denver is kind of the calm before the storm. I'm trying to get all caught up on blogging (ha!) and editing and life in general. I'm also trying to kinda get ahead on things like eating, sleeping, breathing . . . because I'm not to sure how much time I will have for insignificant things like that in the near future ;)

{One of MANY amazing pictures I got on last weekends incredible e-session. I cannot wait to share the rest}

I am taking my almost 8 year old baby sister for her surprise birthday lunch this Friday, and GUESS where we are going!?! To the American Girl Place Cafe. She doesn't know anything about it yet, so basically it's just me getting really excited about it. It was like a dream of mine when I was her age to go to the American Girl Place in Chicago, and now that they have opened one here in Dallas I figured that it was a good time to make that dream come true for me - I mean her :P Pictures and blog post to follow.

{Family shoot that will soon be blogged}

I know I could think of a million other random things to share with you, but at this point I'm running out of time and I have a feeling most of you haven't even continued reading to this point . . . because I have bored you so much.

I'm hoping to blog loooots this week, we'll see how that works out for me, but I honestly have so much to catch you up on. So keep checking back!

Much Love.
