Sarah: 2012 senior || white rock lake portrait & wedding photographer

I've had several clients choose white rock lake as their shoot location over the past year, and it's quickly become one of my favorite locations to shoot.  Partly because in spite of the fact that I've shot there 4 times now, I've never shot at the same place twice--there are just so many beautiful spots all around the lake!
Sarah and I hit it off right away--half because she's darlingly (I just made that a word) sweet, and half because she has gorgeous red hair, which heeellllo, obviously meant she's a kindred spirit :)  We had fun by the water, in the queen anne's lace, and took pictures until we'd squeezed every last drop of golden yum from the sunset over the lake.  (Also, as a complete sidenote, I would like to say that during the shoot a little girl came by walking her pet teacup pig ON A LEASH--and completely made my day when she let us pet him. I don't want one myself, but I was thoroughly amused by the fact that she had a pet pig that was treated just like a little puppy.)

Last week I was SO excited when I heard that VSCO had finally released their camera app, and I've been in love with it from the second I bought it.  I bought VSCO for lightroom a few weeks back and I've spent some time messing around with it, but haven't had time to officially make it a part of my regular workflow yet.  But I love it all the same, I used it for Chloe's shoot a few weeks ago, and can't wait to start using it more!
Yesterday The Boy and I spent about 7 hours at the lake, picnic-ing, kayaking, and loving every minute of being together :)  The weekends have become an extremely precious commodity to me over the past 10 months, because between his work + school schedule, and my work + travel schedule, and the fact that we live over an hour away from each other, that's usually the only time we get to see one another. We ended the day yesterday sunburnt, a little bit wet, and feeling sleepy and sore, but happy for sweet relaxing days where lifetime kinds of memories are made.

Natalie: senior 2012 || white rock lake, portrait & wedding photographer

I always love getting clients that come as referrals from past clients.  Natalie has been best friends with Brianna since they were little girls and found me after I did Brianna's senior pictures last fall.

Texas February weather can be somewhat fickle... sunny one day, snowing the next, and then 80 degrees two days later.  So we were verrrry happy when the day of her senior portraits turned out to be one of the prettiest days of the year so far!  While golden hour (the hour just before sunset) is allllways gorgeous in my opinion, there are some that seem to have an extra bit of honey loveliness drizzled into it, and this evening was one of those times.  The yummy light coupled with her beautiful smiling face, and her mom's hilarious antics behind my back to try and make Natalie laugh, made for a happy fun evening, and gorgeous pictures!

Congratulations Natalie on your upcoming graduation, and as hard as it is for me to say this (as a Texas Longhorn thru and thru) good luck at OSU! :)

Brianna: senior {white rock lake, portrait & wedding photographer}

I could hardly wait to post these pictures I love them all so much.  Brianna is a sweet high school senior who found me through some mutual friends and I'm soooo glad she did!  She put up with a last minute location change, (stinkin' arboretum closes at 5--don't they know that golden hour doesn't start until 6?? :P) me showing up 20 minutes late for the shoot (me + driving 1 hr to somewhere I've never been + construction + going home traffic = never a good idea.  I think I got lost approximately 4.5 times) and was happy to do whatever I asked her!  Not to mention she rocked every single shot I took and made it a huge chore for me to try and narrow down which pictures I was going to share here.  But that's a good problem to have, yes?
