I crossed paths with Praise for the first time about 6 years ago. I barely remember the meeting, but the impression she left was indelible. She was beautiful, but it was more than that, she had an cheerful gracefulness that seemed to be wrapped around her wherever she went. She was almost always smiling, and laughed easily. The wonderful world of facebook has kept us in touch since that first meeting and she's been on the list of "people I'd love to photograph someday" for years.
She's one of those people I've admired from afar, loving every time she posted about some new adventure. She worked at Disney World where she and Mulan were "bff's" for a few years, she's traveled the world, she's a fabulous photographer herself, AND has modeled as well... So we've talked over the years about somehow planning a fun shoot together should our paths ever cross again (since we live states away from each other, that's been difficult to co-ordinate). Last Winter she moved to San Francisco and we fiiiiinally had our opportunity for a shoot when I was in San Fran last month.
It was a freezing foggy wet evening, (typical San Fran summer night :P) so we weren't able to shoot for as long as I wanted, but we still had fun :) She braved the freezing winds and kept flashing that bright smile despite the weather.
