Daniel & Kate: engagement || cedar hill state park, engagement photographer

Wednesday, March 13, 2013

He moved to Texas on a whim of sorts.  From a small town in Ohio, (like a population of 8,000 kind of small) Daniel traveled through Texas with friends, got invited to stay, and did... never knowing what kinds of wonderful implications that decision would have on the rest of his life.  A while later he was ready to move back, unless... unless, the striking girl with big green eyes and auburn hair would agree to go on a date with him.  Needless to say he never moved back, she just kept agreeing to dates ;)

Daniel is a strong quiet Ohio country boy (not "country" in the redneck sense, just "country" in the hardworking, no-nonsense, wholesome kind of way) and Kate is this adorable wisp of a beauty.  A drama major in college, she looks and seems like someone who has just stepped right out of your favorite storybook.  Beautiful, sweet, demure, with style that makes me want to take her shopping with me ;)

We spent an hour and a half roaming all over the historic farm that Kate took Daniel to for a surprise date early on in their relationship.  "He misses green grass and fields, and 'pretty country'.  Texas is just so brown and dead all the time.  I brought him here in the hopes that this would feel a little bit like home to him."  It poured rain almost all day the day of our session, but cleared up just before we started, making the whole world look lush and rich with color, just the way Daniel likes it.

Congratulations Daniel and Kate, I cannot wait to be a part of your happy day in just a few weeks!  Enjoy the pictures!
