Sarah: 2012 senior || white rock lake portrait & wedding photographer

Wednesday, May 9, 2012

I've had several clients choose white rock lake as their shoot location over the past year, and it's quickly become one of my favorite locations to shoot.  Partly because in spite of the fact that I've shot there 4 times now, I've never shot at the same place twice--there are just so many beautiful spots all around the lake!

Sarah and I hit it off right away--half because she's darlingly (I just made that a word) sweet, and half because she has gorgeous red hair, which heeellllo, obviously meant she's a kindred spirit :)  We had fun by the water, in the queen anne's lace, and took pictures until we'd squeezed every last drop of golden yum from the sunset over the lake.  (Also, as a complete sidenote, I would like to say that during the shoot a little girl came by walking her pet teacup pig ON A LEASH--and completely made my day when she let us pet him. I don't want one myself, but I was thoroughly amused by the fact that she had a pet pig that was treated just like a little puppy.)

Much Love,
Jessica Shae

  1. Red haired people are my favorite, so are curly haired people, so do you two want to share the gorgeousness on top of your heads! Aside from that, these pictures are just amazing. That girl is preeeeetty!

  3. jessica! these are beautiful! the light is so swoon-worthy and sarah is gorgeous (her red hair! ah!). also, teacup pigs are kind of my weakness. grown stinky smelly pigs, not so much, but those little tiny ones...hello heart palpitations. ;)

  15. Beautiful! I just wanted to add something... I went walking there this morning, and the Arboretum is taking the beautiful hills with the wildflowers all around it and turning them into parking lots. There are protests going on right now because these wildflowers are so beautiful and they are about to mow them down! One of the things the protesters are doing is going down to the lake (The wilderness around it) and taking pictures of wildlife. You can check it our here: http://www.dallasnews.com/news/community-news/dallas/headlines/20120503-white-rock-residents-protest-parking-plans-on-native-prairie-near-dallas-arboretum.ece ... If you go down there to take pictures, you can ask the protesters where to send the pictures. Just thought I would let you know that. (I am not "Go green" but it is sad that these beautiful flowers will be mowed...)
