"Easy things don't test the boundaries of God's limitless grace"
I was reading back in my journal the other day, and read that comment I had scribbled down in the margins of one of the pages sometime last year. I don't remember writing it, and I don't remember what brought that truth to light in my heart and mind, but there it was. And as I let the words roll around in my head, I was struck with the simplistic truth of the statement. Easy things are...easy. I don't gasp for God's grace when life is all peaches and cream. Sure, I feel His grace in the day in day out "easy" happenings of my life, but it's not until life overwhelms me, to where I'm drowning in the "hard" things that I'm bumping into at every turn, that I truly put His grace to the test. And it's in those days and moments that I feel it stretch and stretch, and stretch even a little bit further, to cover me. No matter how much I push it, God's grace reaches out further. I've definitely tested the limits of grace this year, and not once has it been found wanting.
I've found this to be true.
I cannot run away from His grace.
It surrounds me, engulfing me with the knowledge of His love for me.
He gives grace to smile, and forgive, He gives grace to love and to accept love. He gives grace to do the impossible things, to take that terrifying step of faith. He even gives grace to see the grace gifts that are all around me. To notice the little sisters laughter, and the hug from a friend, and the way golden lights spills out of the sky enveloping everything in yellow beauty. To realize that there are literally hundreds of things around me every day that were meant for me to take note of. And to be thankful for. Because they are love notes sent straight to my heart, from the heart of my grace giving God.
"For out of His infinite riches in Jesus
He giveth, and giveth, and giveth again."
Much Love.
