someone to miss: personal || dallas, tx engagement & wedding photographer

Monday, July 30, 2012

In years past I would listen to friends moan and dramatically complain about how much they missed their "someone" who lived in another state, or was attending a different college...etc.  While trying to be sympathetic (not one of my stronger traits :P) I would usually end up interjecting with the not so sympathetic comment that "at least you have someone to miss..."

My family is 11 days into a 20 day road-trip/vacation and that phrase has been running through my head a lot lately.  Because yes, I miss The Boy.  Planning a wedding when you're a million miles and two time zones away from each other is not only difficult but exhausting as well.  But today instead of moaning about it, I'm going to remember to be grateful that I have someone to miss.  Grateful that exactly a month ago today he asked me to marry him and put the most gorgeous ring on my finger as a reminder that I have been claimed by the dearest boy in the world.  And, that, though wedding planning might be a little stressful at the moment, I'm planning my wedding for pete's sake!

Mostly just oh-so-extremely grateful that I will be Mrs. "The Boy" in 89 days :)

we had our "official" engagement pictures taken the weekend before I left and there's a little preview up on hannah nicole's blog!

Much Love,

  3. Oh, missing someone is so hard, but I agree that it's well worth because it means you have a special someone! My new husband and I are enjoying finally being together after our long distance, 14 month relationship- it's been wonderful :D

  4. I've followed your blog since you did Matthew and Sarah Berry's wedding. To be able to find the true love of your life it's the best feeling ever. Soak it all in. Can't wait to read about the details.

  5. Girl I completely understand the long distance thing. It will be all worth it though! The waiting and long distance is hard and only those that have done it will understand. I know I cried when reality hit we would have to do a long distance relationship the last year of our engagement. But my pastor told me it will either make you or break you and if anything it made us stronger! And it made me appreciate our time together once we were married even more! And like you said only 89 days! Blessings to you both!
